How long will it last?

The tattoo stain will look almost transparent at first, then can begin to appear after only a couple hours but in most cases will take 12-24 hours to appear, then darken over the course of 48 hours. The design can last up to 2 weeks or possibly more if taken care of well (by avoiding excessive exposure water and treating skin prior to any exposure to water). Water will eventually fade the tattoo stain due to the speed of exfoliation.

Henna penetrates only the top few layers of skin, so as your skin exfoliates away naturally, so does the henna stain. This is what makes it temporary compared to a permanent ink tattoo.
